## What audio credits are

Every time Offbook generates AI voice audio (a new scene, a regenerated line, a narrator for stage directions), the **characters of text** being converted to speech count toward your monthly allowance:

- **Starter:** 50,000 characters / month
- **Pro:** 100,000 characters / month
- **Premium:** 200,000 characters / month

For scale: a typical two-person, 3-page scene is roughly 3,000 to 5,000 characters of other-character dialogue, so even Starter covers a lot of scenes. **Practicing costs nothing**; once a scene's audio exists, you can rehearse it unlimited times.

## Reading the usage meter

The credits indicator in the app shows how much of your allowance you've used, with your reset date. It changes color as you go: green, then **yellow at 70%**, **orange at 90%**, and **red when you've hit the limit**. You can see a detailed breakdown anytime on the Usage page.

## What happens at the limit

If a scene needs more audio than you have left, you'll see **"Monthly usage limit reached"** with exactly how much the scene needs versus what remains. Nothing is lost. **Your scene is saved**, and you can:

- Wait for your allowance to reset on your next billing date, then generate, or
- Upgrade your plan for a bigger monthly allowance.

## Making your allowance go further

- Trim scripts to just the scenes you're actually rehearsing before uploading.
- Use **Trim Audio** to fix timing issues instead of regenerating a line.
- Keep stage directions on **Hidden** or **Silent** if you don't need them narrated.
