How it works
- 01
Upload your script. Add a PDF, photos of the pages, a text file, or pasted text. Offbook finds each character and their lines, keeps stage directions apart from the dialogue, and gives the scene a title and summary.

Choose your role. Pick the character you play. You can switch roles later and run the scene from the other side.

Cast the other roles. You choose a voice for each role. AI voices read every character except yours.

Rehearse out loud. Offbook plays the other lines, listens through your microphone while you say yours, and plays the next cue when you finish.
What it does
- Speech cues: Line detection can be strict, lenient (with a leniency slider), or manual. You can also press Enter or say "next line" to move on.
- Memorization tools: Hide your own lines, hide the whole script for a final test, or show only the first letters of each word.
- Long scripts: One scene holds up to 50 pages. The page picker splits up to 150 pages into scenes, so a full-length play fits.
- Teleprompter: Shows your current line large and highlights each word as you say it.
- Listen mode: Plays the whole scene aloud, your lines included, with scene looping and speed control.
- Scene editing: Edit dialogue and stage directions, move lines between characters, and add pauses.
- Genie: A script-aware assistant for questions about motivation, subtext, and line readings.
- Sharing: Invite castmates to a scene by email on every paid plan, or share a public link on Pro and Premium.
Your scripts and your privacy
- •Your scenes are in your own library. Other people see a scene only if you share it.
- •We do not sell your content or your personal information.
- •You can delete a scene or your whole account at any time.
The privacy policy has the details, including what happens to stored files after you delete them.

The name
Offbook (one word) at offbook.com is made by Offbook Ventures, LLC. It is not affiliated with other apps that have similar names, such as OffBook Studio or Go Offbook. “Off book” is the theater term for knowing your lines without the script.
