Why Offbook is the stronger choice

No audition count

Paid plans do not cap how many scripts you upload each month, so you never ration auditions. Each plan includes a monthly allowance for generating audio.

It waits for your line

Offbook listens and plays the next cue when you finish. Take the pause the moment needs, or come in fast; the scene follows you, not a timer.

Built for line learning too

Use the same scene to memorize your lines and then to tape the audition. Hide your lines, use first-letter cues, and loop the scene until you are off book.

Shape the read

Pick the voice for each role, set the speed of any line, and add a pause before a cue. Stage directions can be read aloud, shown silently, or held as a pause. Record one line yourself with Voice Clone if it must land a certain way.

Who Offbook is for

Offbook is the better pick for most actors. Choose Offbook over ScenePartner if you:

  • Tape often and do not want to count auditions
  • Work on full scripts, not only short sides
  • Want to shape each line: speed, pauses, and voices
  • Want one flat monthly price

How Offbook works

  1. Upload your script. Add a full script or audition sides as a PDF, photos of the pages, or pasted text. Offbook finds the characters for you.
  2. Pick your role. Choose who you play. AI voices read every other character, and you can pick the voice for each role.
  3. Rehearse or self-tape. Say your line out loud. Offbook hears you finish and plays the next cue.

Offbook vs ScenePartner: common questions

Is Offbook the same as ScenePartner?

No. They are separate products from separate companies. Both give actors an AI reader. Offbook focuses on full scripts, line learning, and self-tapes, with flat monthly plans.

Does Offbook wait for me to say my line?

Yes. Offbook listens while you say your line and plays the next cue when you finish. Strict mode expects the written words, Lenient mode forgives paraphrasing (with a 0-100 slider), and Manual mode lets you press Enter or say “next line.”

Does Offbook limit how many auditions I can do?

No. Paid plans do not cap the number of scripts you upload each month. Uploads have page and file-size limits, and each plan has a monthly allowance for generated audio.

Can I use Offbook on my phone?

Yes. Rehearse out loud on your laptop with the full script on a big screen, and listen to your scenes on your phone anywhere, with your own lines spoken, skipped, or left as silent gaps for you to fill. Rehearsing with the microphone works in a laptop or desktop browser, and an iPhone app is coming soon.
