The voice library
Offbook's voice library has 1,000 realistic voices with a range of ages, genders, accents, and styles. What you can cast depends on your plan:
- Free and Starter: 12 voices: Riley, Will, Margaret, Richard, Charlotte, James, Noor, Ingrid, Bianca, Bram, Silas, and Enzo.
- Pro: 500 voices.
- Premium: all 1,000 voices.
Voices your plan doesn't include show a "Pro" or "Premium" badge. Click Browse all voices to search the library by name, age, accent, or style, and star your favorites to see them first when casting.
Every voice has a preview: tap the play button next to it to hear a sample before assigning it.
Assigning voices to characters
Each non-player character in a scene is read by an AI voice you can choose. When you set up a scene you can:
- Smart match: Offbook reads your script and matches a voice to every character in the cast at once. You can change any voice before you confirm.
- Choose manually: assign any voice to any character.
You can change a character's voice later and regenerate their lines.
Regenerating audio
Edited a line, changed a voice, or just want a different read? Select the line in Edit Scene and choose Regenerate Audio. Each generation counts toward your monthly audio allowance.
Voice clone: record your own delivery
Sometimes you need a line delivered exactly a certain way: a specific pace, a specific emphasis. With Voice Clone, you record the line yourself, and Offbook makes new audio for that line in your scene partner's voice, with your timing and emphasis. Only the lines you record change.
- Open Edit Scene, and on your partner's line click Edit Audio, then Voice Clone.
- Click Start Recording, say the line after the countdown, then click Stop.
- Click Generate Audio, then press Play to hear it.
Fine-tuning playback
- Per-line speed: 0.5× to 2× on any line.
- Trim audio: cut dead air from the start or end of a generated line.
- Delay before line: add a beat ahead of any line (0 to 10 seconds on the slider).
